At the heart of Homm Dessert Sydney, the design concept is guided by The Ribbon, inspired by Simone Signoret’s quote:
“It is threads, hundreds of tiny threads, which sew people together through the years.”

Like a polished satin ribbon unfurling, Homm Café weaves its distinctive take on Thai desserts into the fabric of the Australian city. More than a decorative gesture, The Ribbon symbolises the connection between people, cultures, and flavours. Its fluid movement reflects the brand’s continuous evolution, while its refined form expresses the artistry behind Homm’s signature creations.
As guests step into Homm Dessert, they become part of this narrative, threads within a vibrant tapestry of shared moments, indulgence, and connection.
Homm Dessert, Haymarket
Building on the success of their Melbourne flagship, Homm Dessert’s vision was to create a Thai-inspired dessert café that balances tradition with modernity. The new space carries forward the charm and identity of the original café while introducing design elements that respond to Sydney’s energy and cultural landscape.
The result is a contemporary environment that feels both familiar and fresh, welcoming loyal patrons while capturing the attention of a new Sydney audience seeking a refined dessert café experience.
One of the key challenges within the Homm Dessert Sydney site was navigating existing structural columns and varying ceiling heights. Rather than treating these as limitations, the design approach reimagines them as integral features.
Columns are carefully integrated into the spatial narrative, enhanced with detailing that elevates their presence. This transforms potential constraints into moments of visual interest, reinforcing the intentionality behind every element of the space.
To ground Homm within its context, a sandstone finish has been introduced—paying homage to the city’s architectural heritage. This material choice anchors the space in Sydney’s identity while distinguishing it from its Melbourne counterpart.
The result is a layered, thoughtfully curated interior that reflects both continuity and evolution—true to the essence of Homm.
Ultimately, Homm Dessert Sydney is more than a café. It is an experience shaped by movement, materiality, and meaning, where design and dessert come together to create moments of connection, culture, and indulgence.
