With the launch of Dopa Express Chatswood Interchange, the brand introduces a new high-efficiency dining model designed for Sydney’s fast-paced commuter culture.
Positioned beneath one of Sydney’s busiest transport hubs, Dopa Express Sydney brings a new kind of energy to the daily commute. This latest “roll out” concept is tailored to high-traffic environments, transforming quick dining into a seamless and engaging experience.
Inspired by the neon-lit intensity of Tokyo’s metro stations, the design departs from conventional neutral palettes. Instead, it embraces a bold, immersive aesthetic that reflects the rhythm and movement of urban life.
As a compact, high-performance format, Dopa Express Chatswood captures the essence of travel, efficiency, and city energy. The space is carefully designed to support quick service without compromising on atmosphere or brand identity.
The concept centres on creating a memorable pause within the journey, where grabbing a meal becomes an experience rather than a routine.
As the design team explains: “It’s about capturing that distinctive Tokyo transit energy, high-impact visuals paired with intelligent, space-efficient planning that respects the customer’s time while offering a sensory escape from the everyday commute.”

A Vibrant Colour Palette: Dominated by striking red and blue tones, the space establishes a strong visual identity within the busy interchange, instantly recognisable and energising.
Playful Rail-Inspired Details: Subtle references to metro train carriages are expressed through metallic finishes, linear lighting, and compact seating arrangements, balancing function with personality.
Layered Materiality: A curated mix of glazed red tiles, perforated metal mesh, and red timber creates depth and tactility. These elements are grounded by bold blue glass bricks and blue terrazzo flooring, reinforcing the concept’s urban, transport-inspired narrative.
